NuCourt Fill Coat is a high-solids, water-based acrylic filler designed to level and prepare asphalt surfaces. It is designed as a “build coat” to repair minor surface flaws prior to applying NuCourt topcoat systems. This product helps you create a smoother, more professional finish on sports courts and other outdoor asphalt surfaces.
NuCourt Fill Coat should be applied using a stiff bristle broom or a squeegee. It fills small gaps and surface cracks, creating a solid base layer. This helps the NuCourt topcoat to adhere to asphalt substrates, provide a more even playing surface and to enhance the lifespan. It is perfect for tennis, basketball/netball courts, as well as other recreational sporting areas.
NuCourt Fill Coat is a water-based low VOC product, making it safer for both users and the environment. It is designed to withstand all weather conditions and is durable enough for daily use. Once the full NuCourt system has been applied, it offers added protection against mould, bacteria, and surface wear.
The smooth surface it creates also improves court performance and helps reduce ongoing maintenance. By filling in rough spots and small cracks, it reduces trip hazards and makes the area easier to maintain.

Preparation:
The surface must be clean and free of all lichen, moss, grease, oil, chewing gum, silicon and other foreign matter.
Moss and Lichen Contamination: Use Nutech MossRid as per the relevant TDS, allowing the surface to dry thoroughly after complete preparation.
Grease & Oil: Use EcoSafe Degreaser per the relevant TDS. High-pressure water clean with a minimum of 2500 PSI to remove the grease, oil, food, or stains. Allow to dry thoroughly.
Repair: All non-structural cracking and any surface damage. Nutech Paint recommends seeking professional advice regarding any structural or drainage issues before commencing work.
Any ponding of water deeper than 20mm will require patch repairing.
Where the existing coating has been removed, patch repair the surface using NuCourt Fill Coat in accordance with the TDS.

Squeegee:
Apply 1 coat NuCourt Fill Coat
Method:
- Pour a windrow of NuCourt Fill Coat parallel to the court edge.
- Apply even downward pressure and avoid leaving thick film sections on either side of the applicator.
- Walking in the direction of the windrow, spread with the applicator to obtain an even cover, then reverse direction.
- Allow coat to dry.
After the coating is dry, inspect the surface and scrape or grind off any excess lumps or irregularities
Top Coat: NuCourt Pro Coat or NuCourt Roll Coat TDS
Note: Do not overwork areas and always maintain a wet leading edge.
Undulating surfaces: Squeegee method may not be suitable.
2 Broom Method:
Apply 1 coat NuCourt Fill Coat
Method:
- Spread the NuCourt Fill Coat coating with a stiff bristle broom
- To obtain a smooth and even finish, follow up with a soft bristle broom
- Allow coat to dry
After the coating is dry, inspect the surface and scrape or grind off any excess lumps or irregularities
Top Coat New Concrete Surfaces: NuCourt Pro Coat or NuCourt Roll Coat TDS
NOTE: Broom application usually uses 10% more coating material than squeegee application.
