NuPool Chlorinated Rubber is a single-pack, solvent-based coating formulated specifically for use on swimming pools previously coated with chlorinated rubber. It delivers a tough, water-resistant finish while offering protection against a wide range of chemicals, salts, oils, and fats. Designed for repainting existing chlorinated rubber coatings, this product is a smart alternative when two-pack epoxy systems are not suitable.
With excellent adhesion to properly prepared surfaces, this coating stands up well in both residential and commercial pool settings. It also resists abrasion, making it ideal for pools with frequent use. The formula helps prevent the growth of bacteria, mould, and fungus, keeping pool interiors cleaner and more hygienic.
NuPool Chlorinated Rubber performs similarly to traditional two-pack systems, but with the convenience of a single-pack application. This makes it easier to apply, while still offering the durability and chemical resistance expected from a premium pool finish.
Important Note: Do not apply this product over existing epoxy coatings. Before starting, always identify the existing coating type to ensure compatibility and avoid adhesion failure.

Preparation
- All surfaces must be clean and in sound condition.
- Drain the pool, ensuring all residual water is removed, and the surface is thoroughly dry before the commencement of work.
- Remove all oil, dirt, grease, flaking paint and contamination.
- Repair any non-structural cracks and chips using a suitable filler.
- Structural cracks (i.e. > 3mm) and leaks – Seek professional assistance.
- Degrease using Eco Degreaser following the TDS and high-pressure clean (min. 3000psi)
- Etch the surface following the TDS (Mix 1-part EcoSafe Etch to 5 parts water)
- high pressure clean (min. 3000psi) remove excess water and allow to thoroughly dry.
Application
- Application: (2 coats) Minimum Dry Film Thickness: 90µm per coat.
- Brush/Roller 1st Coat: No thinning required.
Observe recoat times.
- Brush/Roller 2nd Coat: No thinning required.
Observe dry time.
- Spray: (2 coats) 10% – 15% Thinner
Observe Recoat and dry times.
Curing
Drying times may vary in cooler conditions or high humidity.
- Touch dry: 20 minutes.
- Recoat: 2 – 4 hours.
- Complete Cure: 7 Days.
- Allow seven days before filling the pool with water.
NuPool Care and Maintenance
Proper safety procedures should be followed at all times while handling the product.
DO NOT allow degreasers or acid etchers to dry on the pool surface. This may cause adhesion issues
